| Monday, July 6, 2009 -- Overall, the August 2009 natural gas NYMEX contract fell close to $.50 per MMBtu last week. The only potentially bullish event was a lower storage injection, which was no doubt the result of the heat wave the week of June 22. There just isn't much to provide support for natural gas prices as both coal and crude oil prices continue to decline. For now, the slow price erosion is expected to continue as it is a foregone conclusion that storage inventories will reach historical highs this fall -- the question is will that new record be set in September or October. Our July 2009 monthly edition will be issued next week ... watch for some highlights on our webpage. |
